FindZOPA is a tool designed to help negotiators quickly determine if there is a Zone Of Possible Agreement (ZOPA) in their negotiations. By allowing both parties to submit their reservation prices simultaneously and confidentially, we help people figure out whether there is overlap in their pricing estimations.
Not surprisingly, we built FindZOPA to scratch our own itch. We had been approached by a company that wanted to acquire our startup, but kept declining to give a number. Instead, they wanted us to name a price that could work for us. All of our advisors said not to "move first," and to instead wait for the suitor to give a number. We built this tool to unblock the road forward—and we hope it can be helpful for other startups, individuals, and negotiators.
